Naturally, we can at once start turning the pages of the nearest dictionary… because according to Metaphysics an entity is something that has real and separate existence. Persons, mountains, languages, and [even] beliefs are distinct entities. Latin entitas from ēns, the present participle of esse, meaning “to be,” “being,” “exist,” or “be.” French entité, a thing that has definite, individual existence outside or within the mind; anything real in itself.
A deity is classified as Divine Nature; divinity; divine being; a God or Goddess; Godhood. Old French deité, learned and borrowing from Late Latin deitās, from deus, meaning God or Devil. Middle English deite (from Old French deité, Late Latin deitās, after Latin divinitas), of the Indo-European term deiwos. Sanskrit deva, meaning God; from dei-, meaning “to shine” or “gleam.”
“We see the wisdom and the greatness of the Deity in all seeming worlds that surround us.”
— Oliver Goldsmith
Moreover, regarding to the difference between an entity/deity, one may be inclined to point out that humanity and its corresponding living organisms — as an entity — are significantly measurable, while a deity is immeasurable; but, as per the definitions, Humans are equally an entity and a deity.
